Pol'and'Rock Festival, scheduled to take place on 29th - 31st July 2021, has been moved to a new location. Pol'and'Rock Festival, formerly known as Woodstock Festival Poland, is a household name in Poland and Germany. The free music festival has attracted an audience of nearly 700 000 people from Poland and worldwide. Health and safety concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic caused the organizers to look for new solutions and motivated the search for a new location for the annual event. The 27th edition of Pol'and'Rock Festival will take place at the Makowice Airfield, in the municipality of Płoty located in West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
The festival will be a hybrid event, combining a limited audience on site of the festival with an online broadcast. After a year-long break, Pol'and'Rock Festival will again play out under the open skies in Makowice, northwestern Poland. The health and safety of participants - artists, staff, and festival-goers are the primary concern of the organizers and is the reason behind the change of the location of the Festival. The organizers aim to introduce mandatory COVID-19 testing of all taking part in the festival. The obligation to introduce strict safety procedures such as limiting the number of revellers on site required the team behind Pol'and'Rock Festival to look for a new location. For the first time in the decades-long history of the Festival, the organizers will introduce passes. The sale of festival passes will cover the costs of COVID-19 testing on the festival site and help monitor the number of people present on the festival grounds.
Even though COVID-19 restrictions might force us to limit the audience on site of the Festival, we aim to bring the atmosphere of Pol'and'Rock to people worldwide through the free online broadcast of all concerts, meetings, and activities that will take place at the Pol'and'Rock Festival.
Mere weeks ago, we were sure that we all meet in Kostrzyn nad Odrą for the 27th edition of Pol'and'Rock Festival. We would have worked at the Festival development as usual, but unfortunately, the pandemic in Poland is still in full force. Loath to cancel Pol'and'Rock Festival and unwilling to move it to the Internet, we embarked on a journey to find a new location for our event. We wanted to find a place that would allow us to enforce all health and safety procedures. We narrowed down our list to four locations, and the last one - disused Makowice Airfield- proved to be just what we were looking for.
We are looking forward to experiencing the Festival under the open skies, but we are more than aware that the pandemic reality requires us to be cautious. We will do our best to ensure the safety of our guests. We are working full time on the new format of our Festival. We are in touch with artists, but we cannot be sure how and when our line-up will change and how it will grow.
We are more than sure that we will meet again, and on Thursday, July the 29th, we will launch the 27th edition of the Most Beautiful Festival in the World!
