Golden Spinning Top I Emerging Bands

Golden Spinning Top

We often say that the audience helps us create Pol'and'Rock Festival, and our line-up is no different. We give you a unique opportunity to help us build our line-up by voting for your favourite performance at Pol'and'Rock 2021. The winning artists will receive an open invitation to play at the stages of the Most Beautiful Festival in the World.

The voting process is divided into stages. At the end of each stage, bands which receive the least votes will be eliminated. In the final stage, three groups will compete against one other. Remember that you can cast only one vote in each of the three rounds of the competition.

  • Stage I ends on the 4th of May - all bands
  • Stage II ends on June 6 - half of the bands with the most votes
  • Stage III ends on the 4th of July - three bands with the most votes

The winner of the Golden Spinning Top 2022 is Dirty Shirt with a total of 5062 votes!

Bands which will play on the Pol'and'Rock Festival
  • Gorgonzolla

Gorgonzolla is a Warsaw-based band founded in 2013. Two different vocals, two different worlds and a sincere message - this would be a brief description of the band formed by a group of friends. Released in April 2016, their debut album entitled: "Eksploatowani" [Eng. “Exploited”] took the group to the stage of the Krishna Peaceful Village at the 22nd Woodstock Festival Poland. They were appreciated by Antyradio, staying in the TURBO TOP chart for several weeks, and by the magazine Teraz ROCK, where they received high marks in the review. Their record was considered one of the best releases of 2016.

The band has given joint concerts with such groups as KSU, Closterkeller, Luxtorpeda, Kabanos, Nocny Kochanek, Łydka Grubasa and Zenek Kupatasa.

Currently, Gorgonzolla is working on their third album promoted by the single “Potwór z szafy” [Eng. “Closet Monster”]. The piece stood among the Antyradio's top 10 on the TURBO TOP chart for two months.

  • Pull The Wire

Pull The Wire has been present on the Polish rock scene for 15 years.  A wider audience got to know them in 2012 after the premiere of a video clip for  "Kapslami w niebo" [Eng. “Shooting bottlecaps”], which conquered the Internet and became the unofficial "anthem of outdoor beer drinking". Their debut album "W Polsce jest ogień!" [Eng. “Poland is on fire!”] with one of the most recognisable songs among the "third wave" generation of punk rock "Papieros" [Eng. “Cigarette”] let them win the Emerging Bands Competition for Woodstock Festival Poland 2015.

The band from Żyrardów has played hundreds of shows on the domestic club scene, often appearing at rock music festivals, and had the opportunity to perform in Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Their latest EP "Sztuka Przemijania" [Eng. ”Art of Evanescence”] was well-received by music critics, and the piece "Iluzja" [Eng. “Illusion”] was nominated for Antyradio's Rock Hit.

  • Transgresja

Transgresja is a Silesian band which draws you into the world of energetic psychedelic rock. The band's trademark is an eye-catching visual setting, combining mysterious and dark sounds with a contrasting play of lights and fluorescent outfits of the performers. Each concert is an atmospheric show, a feast for the senses and imagination. During the six years of their activity, the band was active both on stage and in the studio, gaining recognition in music reviews and consistently garnering new fans thanks to numerous club and open-air gigs.

Żurkowski is a band established in 2016 by Łukasz Żurkowski - a singer, guitarist, text writer and composer. It musically hovers over alt-rock with some strong electronic feeling. In 2019 their piece "Ciemność" [Eng. "Darkness"] won the Męskie Granie Young contest. Later that year they played a concert in Muzyczne Studio Polskiego Radia im. Agnieszki Osieckiej [Eng. Agnieszka Osiecka Music Studio of Polish Radio].

The producer, Paweł Cieślak, is famous for his cooperation with COMA, Litlle White Lies, Ralph Kamiński and ZABROCKI. This year, in February, they published their second LP "Kurz" [Eng."Dust"]. • Dziwna Wiosna

It took them three songs to be hailed as the hope of Polish rock, the Christina Aguilera of grunge and the Wilki [Eng. „Wolves”] of death metal. It has never been unequivocally said though, whether it is a good thing. As they say themselves: „We have never won anything, but we are nominated for something non-stop. This year, for instance, we were nominated for „The Fryderyk Awards” for our debut album. Antyradio also nominated us this year in four categories.”

They create what some may fear, i.e. the kind of songs with fuzz and delay. They claim they always play what they like. What a coincidence! The GOCC does too.

  • Dance Like Dynamite

Dance Like Dynamite was formed in the spring of 2015 in Sopot. It was founded by Krzysztof "Sado" Sadowski and a former member of Blenders Mariusz "Nosek" Noskowiak. The two had previously met in the band Vulgar. Soon afterwards, bassist Piotr Pawłowski from Made In Poland and The Shipyard together with Tomasz "Snake" Kamiński, guitarist of Red Rooster, and Golden Life, joined the band. Noskowiak left, and his place has been taken by Karol Skrzyński, who used to play the drums in Golden Life and earlier in Sweet Noise. Last year Dance Like Dynamite released their LP, "Litania kłamstw" [Eng. “String of Lies”], which was very well received by most critics and music journalists. Such songs as "Litania kłamstw" [Eng. “String of Lies”] , "Szukam"[Eng. “Searching”], or "Sto tysięcy słońc" [Eng. One thousand suns”] allowed the band to reach a wider audience and win new fans.
