A supergroup s a band formed by musicians who are already at the peak of fame and it seems that this moniker has been coined especially for Prophets of Rage. Line-up of this supergroup includes three members of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave (bassist and backing vocalist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello, and drummer Brad Wilk), two members of Public Enemy (DJ Lord and rapper Chuck D), and rapper B-Real of Cypress Hill. The band's formation in 2016 coincided with election drive in the United States, and it is no coincidence that their first infamous performance took place during Republican National Convention. It is no coincidence either that the band's first American tour was named "Make America Rage Again" - an ironic nod to the much-ridiculed Trump's election slogan. Tom Morello, in a conversation with the Rolling Stone magazine, explained the band's identity and purpose as follows:  'We're an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit, and confront it head-on with Marshall stacks blazing.' First and foremost, the musicians forming Prophets of Rage are on a mission to change the world and use their music to spread the message of truth, equality, and tolerance. Their goal is to produce music which will be a manifesto and an inspiration for others to rebel and dissent. In the times of decline of moral values, a band which focuses their message on unmasking liars in power and calling for justice. Band members not only vocally support important issues, but they also readily donated part of the proceeds from their American tour to charities fighting homelessness and hunger crisis in the US.

The band's name has its origin in Public Enemy's album titled "It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back", but the band's music style is a vibrant combination of rock and rap.  Prophets of Rage harness the raw power of hip-hop and combine it with the blasting strength of guitar, bass, and drums characteristic for rock music. Amping up this explosive mix are live DJ sets, where the well-known revolutionist anthems are re-mixed and re-imagined so they are fresh, new, and interesting again. Seasoned musicians well extremely well together,  and they are all able to shine individually, yet at the same time, create a cohesive, united performance as a band. The response for this marriage of music genres and styles is more than enthusiastic - the audience of Pol'and'Rock Festival is up for a real musical treat!
