Avast, ye landlubbers! From the deepest darkest depths of the Caribbean comes ALESTORM, a drunken band of pirates on an epic quest to drink your beer, steal your rum, and be the greatest damn band that ever did sail the seven seas! After a resounding success of their first single "Heavy Metal Pirates", they not only changed the band's name to Alestorm but decided to create pirate-inspired music. Musicians did not surrender their heavy metal credentials but decided to introduce instruments traditionally associated with folk music, such as violins and tin whistles resulted in a creation of an entirely new genre of music. The musicians came up with their very own genre of metal music, combining heavy metal with elements of folk music to achieve "heavy metal shanties". Their pirate-spired music is paired up with a pirate-inspired aesthetics, artwork and lyrics. Another feature that sets the band apart is their humorous lyrics and tongue-in-cheek approach to touring, performing, and creating music.
From humble beginnings playing shows to farm animals in a field somewhere in Eastern Scotland, Alestorm have evolved into an international party machine hellbent on conquering album charts and festival stages throughout the world, with their infectious brand of 'Pirate Metal' and their dashing good looks.
Somehow they've managed to convince hundreds of thousands of people from New Zealand to Argentina to Lithuania and everywhere in between (except Paraguay), that it's cool to wear a pirate hat and sing stupid songs about getting drunk and stealing ships. So prepare your spleens, because Alestorm are coming to kick ass and chew gum. And they're all out of ass.
Also, they have a giant inflatable duck. Does your band have a giant inflatable duck? No. I didn't think so.
Slaves showed that two musicians are more than enough to electrify Woodstock crowd! Isaac Holman and Laurie Vincent prove beyond any doubt that punk is not dead - on the contrary, it is alive and kicking.
Year on year safety remains our top priority and heightened risk status doesn't change much for us in terms of how we think about and plan for safety
Nine Treasures is a Mongolian band returning to Woodstock Festival Poland, only this time taking to the Main Stage after winning the popular vote and becoming a winner of the Golden Spinning Top Award.
