What is the best time for listening to the jazz music? It could be any time, but at night it gains a magical power. For this reason, our Night AFA Stage was reserved for this kind of music.
This year AFA stage was opened already on Wednesday the 1st of August. We could enjoy three concerts that day. Our audience was entertained by P.Unity, Tomasz Chyła Quintet and Laboratorium.

P.Unity started this jazz night with a mix of jazz, hip-hop, funk and soul. Just an idea of mixing those styles makes it great. Our Festival audience was amazed by the sounds coming out of speakers.
The next was Chyła Quintet, keeping the wonderful atmosphere in the AFA tent. Tomek is a fantastic artist, who stated that the violin works well with jazz music, he shared his idea with our audience who responded enthusiastically.
Laboratorium is a legend of Polish jazz stage. The band was created in 1970, but their unique style is still highly appreciated. It was a very special concert because it was performed in memory of Grzegorz Grzyb – band’s drummer who died on then 23rd of July. The band was performing on Thursday (2nd of August) at the Second Stage.

During the second jazz night – on the 2nd of August we had an opportunity to enjoy a concert of the Bibobit band. As our first performance at the AFA Hill it was a mixture of hip-hop and electronic music.
The idea of jazz nights come from our Festival organizers and Forum magazine.

What apart of jazz music? Well - lots of laughs!
During this edition of the Festival, we had an opportunity to watch two stand up comedy performances, although one of them wasn’t a 100% stand-up. We talk about “Emigrant’s confession- music stand-up by Czesław Mozil”, which was neither a stand-up nor a concert fully. We can argue about the style, but it doesn’t matter – the most important is that the public was absolutely seduced by his music and enjoyed themselves very well.
The next stand up was performed by Rafał Rutek Rutkowski, Tomasz Boras Borkowski, Adam Van Bendler, Ada Grzanka oraz Mariusz Kałamaga. The laugh of our audience was loudly heard at the whole AFA hill – the tent was full of people.

A bit of magic
Talking about magic we mean hypnotic show that was performed by Artur Makieła. Public not only metaphorically watched his performance as hypnotised. It was for sure an experience that will stay with us for a long time and what really happened during the show? Well, it will always remain Magician’s secret.
Another show was also magical but in a different way. Band Tides from Nebula charmed our festival audience by the amazing harmony of sound. Fantastic post-rock performance at the extremely high level.

Another year we can see a theatre performance at our night AFA stage. Theatre 6. Piętro came to us with a show „Polityka”. On the stage, we could see Zosia Zborowska, Rafał Królikowski, Kazimierz Kaczor, Hanna Śleszyńska, Joanna Żółkowska, Sylwester Maciejewski, Bartłomiej Firlet, Paweł Nowisz, Miłogost Reczek and Michalina Sosna. It was an intellectual journey of the best quality.
We are ahead of the next listing of the Golden Spinning Top in the second stage. From now onwards you can only vote for 5 teams in each category. The good news, however, is that each of you can vote again - only once (for one selected team) in each category.
After a resounding success of his most accomplished album, it is time for the audience to meet the real Frank Carter.
