Hunter is a Polish band with a long-standing tradition in the underground music scene. The band has been established in Szczytno in 1985 by vocalist and guitarist Paweł “Drak” Grzegorczyk and drummer Grzegorz “Brooz” Sławiński. Grzegorczyk is the only remaining original band member. Currently, the band performs in the following line-up: guitarist Piotr „Pit” Kędzierzawski, violinist Michał „Jelonek” Jelonek, bassist Konrad „Saimon” Karchut, drummers Dariusz „Daray” Brzozowski and Arkadiusz „Letki” Letkiewicz, and vocalist and guitarist Paweł “Drak” Grzegorczyk.
Initially, the band performed songs written in English and cited Metallica’s music as the main source of inspiration. Fed up with comparisons with the American band, Hunter embarked on their very own creative journey. However, 2003 brought about the change of the band’s creative direction – Paweł “Drak” Grzegorczyk described their music as “soul metal”. The band blends together two heavy music genres: the aggressive, fast-paced thrash metal is combined with powerful heavy metal to produce a sound which is can be just described as - that's so "Hunter".
The collective got their first commercial break after 10 years of being an acclaimed underground band. In 1995 their debut album, Requiem, was released. Their second studio album was released in 2003. Medeis established the band’s position on the Polish heavy metal scene, and music videos promoting their second release were aired by VIVA Polska music television. Two years later, Hunter released their third studio album. T.E.L.I… contained their first mainstream radio hit. Hunter have released 6 acclaimed studio albums, each an example of their creative search for unique sounds and methods of expression.
The musicians are making their return to the Most Beautiful Festival in the World to celebrate their 30th anniversary with their fans.
